Many slab suppliers are offering antique, "leatherlook," or brushed finishes as an option to polished stone surfaces, including granite. This antique style of finish is very fashionable in Europe; It is more popular than a polished or honed surface.

Braxton-Bragg now offers the fabricator the ability to create these textures on any type of stone. Cepicat brushes come in silicon carbide for softer stones like marble, and in diamond for even the hardest granite. These brushes come in 4 and 5-inch diameter sizes, and allow the fabricator to produce textures quickly and easily. While they work great for inline or radial arm machines, they can be used nearly as efficiently with any standard polisher with center water feed. Each brush has a snail lock for easy attachment to larger machines like a Park Industries Pro-Edge® or Marmo edging machines, or a radial arm machine like the Park Industries Wizard. The brushes, also, have 5/8 -11 thread for use with hand polishing tools like Flex, Makita® or Hercules® . These brushes are designed to be flexible and are durable even under difficult shop conditions.

These brushes were tested at BraxtonBragg by Steve Bussell, Product Development Manager. The results were a striking, antiqued look, which accents the veining of the stone and creates a soft, dimensional effect. Because of the delicateness of the finished look, these brushes are for wet use only. They are for 2,000 to 4,000 rpm machines.
