When You Don't Cover Your Tracks

Police in Central Pennsylvania simply followed footprints in the snow to catch a man who allegedly tried to burglarize a convenience store by throwing a brick through a window.

Altoona police say they followed the tracks to a home where 28-year-old Joshua Phillips, of Tennessee Ridge, TN, had been staying with relatives. Officers say Phillips claimed to be home asleep all night even though his sneakers were wet and he had two pair of wet pants with him.

Police say a brick found in the home was the same kind thrown through the store's window and that Phillips' shoes matched the snowy footprints.

Phillips is in the Blair County Prison. He has a preliminary hearing coming up soon. Online court records don't list an attorney for the abominable snow vandal.
