New Product Report: Greenworld Glass

I get tons of info on a daily and weekly basis from companies that are bringing new products to market. Every now and then I find a machine, tool or product that stand out to me, and I think the loyal readers of the Slippery Rock Gazette would be interested in knowing about.

Today, I found one of those products that has some really cool qualities, and fabricators who are interested in broadening the product lines they offer to their clientele should know that it exists.

It's a new slab product that is in the "Green" (No - not the color, but the environmental mindset) family of products. It's called "Green World Glass" and is a direct competitor to other similar products like Vetrazzo, Icestone and Enviroglass - but there's a few things about Green World Glass that set it apart from its competitors.

In my opinion, the most noteable aspect of the Green World Glass slab product is that they offer it with molded, seamless, integral sinks. No other manufacturer of recycled glass and concrete type slab products offers this.

Additionally, Green World Glass has a proprietary additive to their product that makes it extremely stain and corrosion resistant, more so that some of the other products available to Fabricators that just use water-based cement and recycled glass fragments.

According to Dana Lange of Green World Glass, their company opened in May of 2009, and produces slabs of recycled glass and con- crete in 60" x 120" and 30" x 120". Green World Glass is the only manufacturer of integrated bath vanities using the recycled glass product concept, and their product is stain, heat and scratch resistant. I've noticed that they've done some very interesting tests using muriatic acid on their products; the results are on their website. They are the only manufacturer of recycled glass terrazzo in Southern California. Their product is available in resin and concrete, and they can also customize any color combo for a custom application.

This is a new twist on a recycled glass and concrete slab product and I would urge all fabricators to check out; you can contact Green World Glass at 888-914-5277 and get the "scoop" right from Dana Lange, or visit their web site at www.greenworldglass.com

After looking over their product line, I personally think that this is a product any fabricator that is interested in doing "green" products should be using.

Until next month...
