Chalk it up to instant karma. An Idaho man suspected of stealing a wallet from the desk of a prospective employer has been arrested after calling police to report that his wallet was missing.

The Idaho Statesman reports Boise police realized the man who reported the missing wallet matched the description of the suspected wallet thief and arrested 25-year-old Daniel Damico on suspicion of burglary and grand theft.

Police say they believe Damico disposed of the stolen wallet, but used a credit card to buy tobacco at two stores. It was when he was leaving the second store that he thought he may have dropped his own wallet.

Police recovered the credit card and the stolen wallet. Officers suspect someone else found Damico's wallet. It still has not been recovered.

Besides the proscription against stealing in the Ten Commandments, in the Book of Matthew we find the Golden Rule, or, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." This verse used to be taught in our public schools, and naturally comes to mind when I think about how one should behave, as well as the popular concept of karma, which seems to have permeated our not-sopolite society. Karma is the law of moral causation, originating in Hinduism. It's sort of a law of cause and effect. Whatever energies or efforts you put out into the universe, positive or negative, will come back to you twice fold.

It's like if you do good deeds, than you'll be blessed with other good things. However, if your actions tend to be more of a malicious nature, the repercussions can cause you to constantly stay in trouble.

Let's say you donate your time and/or money to a charity. That's a good thing. The other good thing to come out of that could be the people or animals you help, and it's something you can feel good about. If you spend your time committing criminal acts, then others get hurt, and a lifetime in and out of correctional facilities may be your reward... and not to mention, what comes after.

But first of all, what kind of person steals from someone who was considering them for a job? Right there, you gotta figure Mr. Damico pretty much had it coming to him, whatever you believe.
