August Stone Terms Crossword

We didn't make it easy on you last month! Indeed, many readers were close, but we had few winners. Many entrants complained that the puzzle was too hard, unfair, and were forced to admit how little they actually knew of geology and stone restoration, which we agree is a specialized field. We extend hearty congratulations to our learned stone lore champions, and thanks to all who were fearless enough to participate. If it's any consolation, Rufus, Anne and Carmen couldn't answer them all either!
