Braxton-Bragg has announced the closing of its Fresno, California Distribution Center, effective November 1, 2011. Closing the Fresno DC will enable Braxton-Bragg to improve customer service, provide faster delivery times to customers and reduce internal costs, which will be passed on to their customers through lower freight costs.
In light of this, Braxton-Bragg is making it even faster and cheaper for stone industry professionals to purchase its products by offering free second-day shipping for orders of $250 or more.
Rich Hassert, president of Braxton-Bragg, said that other companies charge extra for the convenience of second-day delivery.
"We're offering premium shipping for free," Hassert said. "We believe this is a better freight policy than our competitors, and it's easy to understand."
Orders received from 7:30 am to 5:45 pm EST will continue to ship the same day. Orders over $250 ship UPS Second Day free if they weigh less than 70 pounds. Orders under $250 ship UPS Second Day for only $13.95 in all 50 states. For only $25 more the customer can receive his order UPS Next Day. Braxton-Bragg will even pay HazMat fees for adhesives and sealers. Heavy items requiring truck shipment will be charged actual freight costs.
The company is trying to give back to its customers, Hassert explained. "We're able to do it because we've continually improved our internal operations and reduced costs. This is a way to share those cost reductions with our customers."
The new shipping policy puts second day shipping within the reach of any of BraxtonBragg's U.S. customers. "This covers the entire United States including Alaska and Hawaii," Hassert said. "Anywhere in the U.S., you can order by 5:45 p.m. (EST), and you'll receive it next day or second day, depending on where you are located."
