Braxton-Bragg LLC announces a revolution in the tile industry. Gone are the days when a thick layer of cement backerboard had to be cut and screwed in place first, before any work could begin on a tile floor or countertop.
Gone are the days when a remodeled kitchen floor meant that it would forever stand just a little higher than the rest of the house.
The TAVY Thin-Skin Two-Part Underlayment System was developed to provide an underlayment for tile that could be installed over any surface without adding additional height to the sub-floor. The Thin-Skin System is so simple that it can be installed by both professionals and DIYers.
The TAVY Thin-Skin Underlayment is simply trimmed to size and glued to the existing area, using TAVY #007 Glue, to create a surface suitable for setting tile. It's as simple as elementary school arts and crafts. Ideal for floors, walls and countertops, it is an alternative to heavy backerboards, when the homeowner does not want any extra thickness added to the subfloor. This could be the product of choice for remodeling jobs, when the new tile floor needs to be on the same level as existing adjoining wood floor.
There are 5 basic steps to installing the TAVY Thin-Skin Two-Part Underlayment System:
1. Clean the sub-surface of debris 2. Spread TAVY Thin-Skin #007 Glue 3. Install TAVY Thin-Skin Underlayment 4. Skim coat TAVY Thin-Skin Underlayment with mortar 5. Start setting tile!
The only tools required are: pencil, knife or scissors, 5/32 v-notched trowel (minimum), 5/32 v-notched spatula, latex modified mortar, putty knife, and margin trowel.
