New Akemi Platinum Epoxy Acrylate Adhesive 50% Stronger, Faster Cure Time
Akemi Platinum Epoxy Acrylate Adhesive is specially formulated to combine the speed of polyesters, clarity of acrylics, and strength of epoxies, said Andrew Landis, sales manager for InnoChem LLC, a member of The Akemi Group.
“Akemi Platinum Epoxy Acrylate Adhesive is an epoxyacrylate blended adhesive,” he said. “It is lighter in color than standard polyesters. It is up to 50 percent stronger, it has UV resistance, and it is very fast curing — it cures in under 20 minutes. It can be pigmented to match very light colors where standard polyesters are yellow, when you add the hardener.
”The fast curing time offers fabricators more convenience, said Braxton-Bragg Product Manger Steve Bussell. “If you are using it for a seam on a countertop, you don’t have to spend hours waiting for it to cure,” he said. “That allows other work processes to begin.
Akemi Platinum Epoxy Acrylic Adhesive has the speed of polyester adhesives, but it has the clarity of epoxies. It’s very good for processes such as patching, doing seams, and laminating. They can be done quickly, and the tinting job is a breeze.
”Akemi Platinum Epoxy Acrylic Adhesive is available in both flowing and knife grade. In addition to speed and strength, the adhesive has excellent polishing characteristics and offers very good adhesion on natural stones at higher temperatures.
